Energy and Environment Cabinet

NEW star The Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet (EPPC) has been reorganized by Gov. Steve Beshear in order to provide better access to services for the people of Kentucky. The EPPC is abolished in favor of the Public Protection Cabinet, the Energy and Environment Cabinet and the Labor Cabinet.

The current Department for Environmental Protection and Department for Natural Resources will move into the new Energy and Environment Cabinet. The reorganization also creates the Department of Energy Development and Independence, which will include the former Governor's Office of Energy Policy.

The current Department of Labor will become the new Labor Cabinet.

Components of the current Department of Public Protection will move mostly to the new Public Protection Cabinet.
